Pocket veto a gift IF............................

In and of itself a small and almost meaningless word. A precursor to a threat or a question even as a qualification. Yet as in the past we have learned that such small words can and have great meaning. Because now we all know how important the meaning of the word is, is.
If, the now democratic controlled Congress in their collective stupor's can open their eye's and realize the opportunity that the putz-in-chief has just handed them with the pocket veto, they might actually succeed in doing what they were sent there to do.
I doubt that even the putz has realized the bonanza he has inadvertently handed back to the Congress. On his worst of days he would never have given anyone one such an opportunity as this.
What he has done and what I hope Reid and Pelosi realize is give them a New Years present that even he cannot touch, because a pocket veto need not be re-voted on needing a two third majority win.
The Defense Spending Bill is now back in their hands to either take the offensive provision out of fight it out with the putz.
BUT, while the bill is in Congress hands IF they do not tell the clerk to do something STUPID like to REMOVE the offending provision, but instead just leave the bill sit until they return from their extended holiday break, then the fun can begin.
For you see, in this massive bill, is also $ 186 billion dollars for the wars in Iraq and Afganistian. How many of you even realized that these lily livered, spineless wimps of alleged leaders whe have in the Congress slipped this puppy into the defense spending bill so that the public would not come and tear down the capitol stone by stone. This amount is in ADDITION to the $ 70 billion dollar supplemental that they were forced to pass with "no strings attached".
SO THE $ 186 BILLION DOLLARS IS BACK IN THEIR HANDS.
The $ 70 billion is a done deal, we can forget about that. But at the rate that they are eating money in Iraq this will only be 2 MONTHS WORTH. ( 15 BILLION A MONTH).
So now, if there ever was a time in their pitiful existence as leaders of both these house's of government, to ever bold stand up with a straight posture and rigid spine and Mr. Reid and Mrs Pelosi both having finally grown a pair of balls to look Mr. Bush in the eye and proudly say FUCK YOU.
As for the metaphor's, the ball is in their court, there is no time like the present, you will never have an opportunity like this again, the goose has laid a golden egg (?), this has been handed to to you on a silver platter, strike while the iron is hot and most importunately YOU NOW HAVE AN IRON GRIP ON THE PURSE STRINGS.
He has inadvertently given you back the opportunity to finally do the mandate that was given to you in November of 2006. Stop this idiotic war. BRING OUR TROOPS HOME.
Once again you have that power, a power that has slipped thou your grasp time after time this year out of your cowardice. Your outright fear of being labeled as "not supporting the troops".
That has been the biggest nonsense bit of propaganda but out by the GOP and you have fallen for it hook line and sinker.
The stupidity of you blunders this year are only outweighed by your cowardice by your actions in both the House and the Senate. In the Senate Mr Reid, more than 60 times you let the GOP force you to cloture. Why ? Why not let them filibuster until they turned purple ? Why not let the entire country see for themselves what the tactics are really all about ? But no, in your infinite wisdom you choose to stand at your podium stooped over like the old man that you are and whine. At that you are quite accomplished. Almost as good as Bohner is at crying on demand. I won't even bother going into all of your private earmarks sir, I believe Americans have already made up their minds about you.
As for you Mrs Pelosi, before you even had the gavel in your hand, these words that will live in infamy "impeachment" is off the table. Excuse me, but the last time I checked there were 434 other members of the House, as well as roughly 300 million people in the country. So who in the fuck are you to come up with such an all uncompromising statement on your own ? To whom did you arrive at this decision with ? Was it while you were watching the torture tapes that by law you should have put a stop to (per your oversight responsibilities) ? Or where you distracted when you were directing earmarks to your husband's business ? Or perhaps the earmarks to spruce up the waterfront where you just happen to be a slumlord ?
One just has to wonder of you both , other than yourselves, just who are you working for ?
Explain to us please, if you can, how this opportunity will be any different from times past ?
Will you, are you, for once and for all be capable and show the fortitude required of you to take the stance required of you that is of and for the people for whom you represent ?
Which leads us back to IF?

If only I had the hope that these people,this body of our government would do what is required of them, I might, perhaps maybe feel more confident.
If this wasted past year in any indicator of what is to come, well, we are in deep shit.
If only a portion of these Congressional rug rats are even remotely of the opportunity here, there is a hope. No matter how minute.

Your Congress people are home for the holidays.
Find them, call them, e-mail them, seek them out, point out this opportunity and demand that they take the proper course of action and BRING OUR TROOPS HOME.
